2011...built upon her breakout junior season playing in all 30 matches and all 110 sets... garnered a spot on the COBRA Magazine All-Southwest Region team... Honorable mention WCC All-Conferecne... Hilton Stockton Invitational All-Tournament, Active Ankle Challenge All-Tournament, and Four Points by Sheraton LA Westside All-Tournament... recorded a season high 20 kills against UC Santa Barbara (Oct. 7) on the way to a total of 345 kills... posted double digits in kills in 19 matches... recorded a total of 248 digs... set season high of 14 digs four times... her 3.14 k/set and 3.58 points for set ranked first on the team... posted a double double in 1 matches...

2010...had a breakout season for the Lions as a junior, playing in all 30 matches and 112 sets... garnered first team All-WCC honors and a spot on the COBRA Magazine Southwest All-Region team... named BYU Molten Classic All-Tournament, Varney's Kansas State Invitational All-Tournament, and Luxe City Center Trojan Invite All-Tournament... earned LMU Female Most Improved Athlete of the Year... notched a team-high 425 kills at a rate of 3.79 per set... kills mark ranked second in the WCC... posted a team-best 1,202 attacks and hit .204... served-up a conference-best 50 aces at a rate of .45 per set... finished the year ranked 16th in the nation in terms of aces per set and 67th in kills per set... the 50 aces rank tied for fifth in the LMU single-season record book... notched 262 digs at a rate of 2.34 digs per set... led the team in block solos with 12 and finished the year with 46 block assists to total 58 blocks at a rate of .52 per set... compiled 510 total points... managed nine double-doubles, including a season-best 27 kills and 16 digs against Saint Mary's on November 18... took a season-high 77 attacks at BYU on September 10... hit .458 against Gonzaga on October 16... served-up a season-high six aces at San Francisco on October 2... posted a career-best 22 digs at UC Irvine on October 8...

2009... played in 75 sets and 27 of the 29 matches as a sophomore... posted a season-best 11 kills on a season-high 35 attacks versus UCLA on September 5... totaled 61 kills and hit .108 in her second season... connected at a .429 clip at Santa Clara on November 21, collecting eight kills on 14 swings... dished-out a career-high tying four assists against Gonzaga on November 5... notched six aces, including two at Pacific on September 19, and two more at Santa Clara on November 21... posted 84 digs, highlighted by a season-high 11 versus Houston on September 11...

2008... appeared in 13 matches and 33 sets as a freshman... collected 15 kills on the year, including a season-high five against Cal State Fullerton on November 25... also posted 14 attacks and a hitting percentage of .214 against the Titans, both season-best marks... contributed her only service ace of the season on September 5 versus Lipscomb... season-high eight digs came on November 22 versus then-No. 25 San Francisco, while personal-best three blocks came against Idaho State on August 29... appeared in just three matches in West Coast Conference action, but collected 16 digs at a rate of 1.78 digs per set, good for third on the team over that span...

HIGH SCHOOL
A 2008 graduate of Vista High School in Vista, Calif... was a four-year varsity letterwinner... garnered All-Avocado League honors as a sophomore, junior and senior before earning an All-North San Diego County bid after her senior campaign... serving as a member of the Epic Volleyball Club team, helped guide her squad to a fifth-place showing at the Junior Olympics in the 18's Open Division in 2007... also competed in track and field... named to the San Diego Union Tribune's All-Academic Team... competed against current LMU teammate, Olivia Bailey, in high school...

Jasmine Mercedez Rankins was born July 17, 1990, in Vista, Calif... daughter of Jodie Johnson and Rabon Rankins... father played basketball at Sacramento State... has three brothers, Michael, Bohanon and Brandon... also recruited by Washington State, UNLV, Santa Clara, Florida State and the University of Miami, but chose LMU because of the location, volleyball team, coaching staff, and the communications program... a communication studies major.
