Lions Fall in Four at Santa Clara
LMU dropped a four-set decision to Santa Clara on Thursday night.

The LMU volleyball program (14-13, 8-9 WCC) dropped a four-set decision to Santa Clara (11-15, 6-11 WCC) on the road in West Coast Conference play on Thursday night. The Broncos recorded the 25-18, 25-20, 22-25, 25-19 victory behind a .304 team hitting percentage and 13 total team blocks.
Santa Clara received a fairly balanced attack, led by 14 kills and a .423 hitting percentage from Haley Cameron. Cameron also led the Bronco block with eight block assists and one solo. Sabrina Clayton added 12 kills for the Broncos, while Taylor Milton had 10. Setter Alyssa Anderson dished out 44 assists to guide Santa Clara to the stellar hitting percentage.
Senior Felicia Arriola had a solid all-around match for LMU, collecting a double-double consisting of 11 kills and a team-best 16 digs. The native of Laguna Niguel, Calif. also had one of LMU's six service aces. Alyssa Walton and Betsi Metter each had two aces for the Lions, but SCU countered with six of its own, including two each from Milton and Clayton. Sophomore Hannah Tedrow matched Anderson with 44 assists of her own, but LMU hit just .181 over the course of the four sets in the loss.
LMU will finish the 2013 season on Saturday when it visits San Francisco for a match at 1 p.m.
