LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Loyola Marymount women's volleyball will once again open its season on Saturday by welcoming its alumnae to Gersten Pavilion for some friendly competition. The annual Alumnae Match is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.

Over a dozen alumnae from the program are scheduled to return to Gersten Pavilion for this year's clash. The alumnae will take on the 2009 Lions, giving the current squad its first taste of competition this season.

Alumnae scheduled to return include Mardell Wrensch (1992-95), Tracy Holman (1994-97), Allison Gustorf (1997-00), Laura Gustorf (1999-02), Tiana Newsome (2000-03), Jacene Dimson (2001-04), Kelli Nerison (2001-04), Nicole Oehlman (2000-04), Dina DeBernardi (2001-05), Audrey Francis (2004-05), Cat Svorinich (2003-06), Heather Hughes (2004-07), and Lauren Kirk (2005-08). Danalee Bragado (1989-1992) and Nathan Jones will serve as the coaches for the team.

Admission is free. The match will serve as a tune-up for the current Lions, who open the 2009 regular season Friday, August 28, against Grambling State at the Texas Christian University Tournament.
