Luft Named Co-WCC Player of the Month

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --
Junior Kathleen Luft was named Co-WCC Player of the Month for September, it was announced by the conference office on Thursday. Luft collected a team-best 179 kills at a rate of 4.16 per set over 11 matches in the month. The Player of the Month is the first of the year for LMU.
The native of Thousand Oaks, Calif. hit .252 while serving up seven aces and posting 99 digs (2.30 per set). On the block, she posted two block solos and 21 block assists for an average of 0.53 blocks per set. The transfer from Georgia posted five double-doubles in the month, including teaming 22 kills with 10 digs against Virginia Tech on September 7.
Other highlights of the month included hitting .390 (19 kills on 41 swings with three errors) at High Point University on September 8, a career-best 23 kills against No. 16 San Diego on September 27, and three aces against George Mason on September 8.
LMU continues West Coast Conference play tonight, hosting #16 BYU at 7 p.m. in Gersten Pavilion.
