LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Less than a week after being honored by the West Coast Conference for their accolades this season, senior Jasmine Rankins and freshman Litara Keil are once again being lauded, this time by COBRA Magazine. Rankins, an honorable mention All-WCC selection this year, was named to the 2010 COBRA Magazine All-Region team before being tabbed to COBRA's 2011 All-Preseason Third Team prior to this season. For her efforts this year, Rankins once again earned a spot on the All-Southwest Region team. Keil, who earned a spot on the All-WCC Freshman Team this year, was named to COBRA Magazine's honorable mention All-Southwest Region team.

COBRA Magazine's purpose is to celebrate the success of volleyball players of African as well as Samoan and Tongan descent in hopes of encouraging young girls of those ethnic groups across the country to pursue the sport.

Rankins finished her senior year in 2011, ending the year as the team-leader in kills with 345 at a rate of 3.14 per set, ranking fourth in the WCC after the regular season. Her 35 service aces were second only to Betsi Metter this year (42), and ranked seventh in the conference. An all-around player, she notched 11 double-doubles to lead the team in that category.

Keil had no trouble with the transition from high school to college volleyball, posting 248 kills at a rate of 2.30 per set to place second only to Rankins. The native of Long Beach, Calif. managed a team-best .240 hitting percentage while also serving-up 21 aces. The team-leader on the block, she collected 20 block solos and 85 block assists to total 105 blocks at a rate of .97 per set - good for ninth in the WCC.
