Briefly... Caitlin Schafer is in her first season of collegiate water polo with the Lions... "Caitlin caught our eye because she was constantly in the middle of the action, played in countless matches during the summer session, and was relentless with her offensive aggression," said Witt. "She can create opportunities for both herself and her teammates and we are excited to introduce her to a style of play that best suits her talents."

High School... graduated from San Benito High School with a 4.3 GPA in 2013... a four-time all-conference selection and has been named USA Water Polo Academic All-American as a sophomore and junior... a three-time All-CIF Division I selection... scored 485 goals with 213 assists and 413 steals in her career... an ODP National Selection Camp in 2012... was in Sports Illustrated Dec. 3, 2012 issue for "Faces in the Crowd." She also plays for the San Jose Water Polo Club.... also swam four years in high school, earning first-team All-League in the 50-free in 2011, 2012 and 2013... was first-team All-League in the 100-free in 2013.

Personal... Caitlin Jeanne Schafer was born in San Jose, Calif., and is the daughter of Christine and John Schafer... mother swam at Central Washington and father rowed at Grand Valley State... has three brothers... a Biology major.
