Honny, Castro Earn All-American Honors

Alexandra Honny earns third All-American honor while Ivana Castro claims her first by the ACWPC.

Teresa Guidi returned to the LMU women's water polo program as the assistant coach for the women's team in 2006. The 2004 LMU graduate returns to the pool where she led the Lions to four straight conference titles.

Guidi and former teammate Jaime Kroeze where the first players in program history to earn a WWPA championship all four years at LMU. Guidi was a three-time All-American for the Lions, earning honorable mention honors as a sophomore in 2002, second-team honors in 2003 and then became the first player in program history to earn first-team All-America honors as a senior in 2004.

She finished her four years at LMU with 140 career goals, good for second all-time at the time she finished in 2004. Since then she has been passed by former teammate Stacia Peterson and Katie Hicks. The mark now ranks fourth all-time. She is also third all-time with 359 shot attempts and fifth with 55 assists.

In addition to All-American honors, Guidi's accolades include the 2003 WWPA Player of the Year, first-team All-NCAA Tournament honors in 2004 and 2002, second-team All-NCAA Tournament honors in 2003, first-team All-WWPA honors in 2003 and 2004 with second-team honors in 2002 and 2001.

She earned her Bachelor of Art in Communication in May of 2004. She came to LMU after graduating from Esperanza High School (Anaheim, CA) in 2000. She lettered for four years in swimming and two years in water polo, serving as captain of both teams her senior year. She earned All-CIF recognition twice and was selected as a Los Angeles Times All-County first team member.

Guidi was born in Orange, Calif., and is the daughter of John and Coral Guidi. She has two sisters, Katherine and Caroline. Caroline also played water polo with the Lions.
