Middle Hurts Lions
Unbeaten and top-ranked Trojans score 13 goals in middle quarters to knock-off Lions at Burns Center.

LOS ANGELES - The top-ranked and unbeaten USC Trojans scored 13 goals in the second and third quarters to earn a 17-6 win over 11th-ranked LMU at the Burns Aquatics Center in non-conference action Thursday afternoon.
The Lions got four goals from sophomore Laura Lopez and trailed by just one, 3-2, after the first period. The teams traded goals to start the second as USC led 4-3 with 6:54 to play in the half. From there, the Trojans score seven straight and led 11-3 two minutes into the second half before the Lions scored again.
Lopez scored a goal in each quarter as the Lions fall to 15-8 on the season while USC improves to 19-0.
LMU will head north for the Bronco Invitational on Saturday, taking on host Santa Clara at 9 am and then Cal State Monterey Bay at 1 pm. The Lions will then face fifth-ranked Cal on Sunday at 11 am.
