Lions End Bronco With Clean Sweep
Women's water polo finishes Bronco Invitational with another two wins over WWPA foes.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - LMU women's water polo made it 4-for-4 against Western Water Polo Association foes at the 2011 Bronco hosted by Santa Clara, defeating another pair in action on Sunday. The Lions defeated Cal State San Bernardino, 12-3, before ending the tournament with a 19-9 win over Cal State Bakersfield.
The Lions improve to 23-7 on the season and a perfect 11-0 against the WWPA.
Senior Mary Ann Campos had seven goals in the two games, pacing a well-round Lions' attack. In the win over the Coyotes, 10 different Lions scored while they matched that against the Roadrunners with 10 more scoring.
It was first quarter explosions that lifted the Lions, as they scored six in the first frame against CSUSB to take a 6-1 lead, and then knocked-in seven against Bakersfield in taking a 7-4 lead. In the four games the Lions scored 23 goals in the first quarter.
Campos scored three goals in the Lions win over CSUSB, helping the Lions post a 9-1 lead at the break. Against Bakersfield, she scored four goals while Daisy Carrillo and Alexandra Honny added three each.
The Lions return to Los Angeles and will travel the short distance to UCLA on Thursday, Apr. 14. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
