LOS ANGELES -- With the 2013 season just 16 days away, Lions' All-Access continues its Inside the Lions look at the LMU women's water polo team as it prepares to defend its 2012 conference title. Up next is All-American and scoring leader junior Alexandra Honny.
As a sophomore, Honny exploded as one of the nation's top scorers leading to third-team All-American honors. She became just the second player in program history to score more than 80 goals in a season, ending the year with 88 - ranked third all-time in LMU history behind Nicole Hughes' 129 in 2009 and 90 in 2008.
As she transitions into her third season, Honny is looking forward to the challenge that awaits her as she will "have eyes on her" as she becomes a leader on the Lions' young squad. Not bad for this Psychology major who as a kid wanted to quit the sport because "I wasn't very good at it."
