LOS ANGELES – The difficult non-conference schedule continues for Loyola Marymount women’s water polo. The Lions (4-7) are tied for 19th in the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association national poll and face tough competition in this weekend’s 16-team Triton Invitational hosted by UC San Diego.
LMU knows that it will open with No. 10 UC Davis at 12 noon on Saturday, but the rest of the field is determined by results in the pool.
Competing in this year’s tournament are:
Bracket A: USC, UC Santa Barbara, San Diego State, Sonoma St.
Bracket B: UCLA, Indiana, UC San Diego, Iona
Bracket C: Arizona State, UC Davis, LMU, Cal State East Bay
Bracket D: UC Irvine, Long Beach State, CSUN, Santa Clara
Follow the tournament landing page for updated schedules and results.
Games will be played in two pools, Triton Pool and Canyonview Pool, both located at the Canyonview Aquatic Center. Tickets are available at the gate for $15 per day.
Located on the eastern end of campus, Canyonview Aquatic Center features two outdoor, Olympic-sized pools, each of which can be divided into eight lanes of 50 meters
in length, or 19 lanes of 25 yards in length. The aquatic center also features a state-of-the-art weight room. Canyonview is home to the UCSD men’s and women’s water polo teams, as well as the men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs.
Parking is free on Saturday, February 10 and Sunday, February 11. For a map of parking on the UCSD campus, click here.
