LOS ANGELES -- The 19th-ranked LMU women's water polo team will wrap-up their seven-game home stand on Friday when they host sixth-ranked UC Irvine at the Burns Aquatics Center. Game time is set for 4 pm.

The game against the Anteaters is the first of back-to-back games on the week. The Lions will continue Golden Coast Conference play on Saturday when they travel to Azusa Pacific for a 12 noon start.

The Lions enter the week at 9-16 overall and 2-2 in the GCC. They are coming off a 10-7 win last Saturday against Santa Clara, 10-7.

The game against UC Irvine will be the 15th of the season again a team in top-15 of the national poll. This will be the 22nd of the Lions' 26 games this season against a team in the top-25.

The Lions defense continues to shine against one of the toughest schedules in program history. Freshman goalie Sky Flores had 23 saves in last week's two GCC games.

Fellow freshman Hana Vilanova leads the Lions in goals and points, scoring 38 goals with 20 assists. Senior Ivana Castro is second on the team with 35 goals and 20 assists, good for 55 points. Senior Kingsley Hill leads the team in assists with 34, adding 11 goals on the year.
