Regular Season Wraps This Week For #21 LMU Water Polo

LOS ANGELES - The regular season comes to a close this week for the Loyola Marymount women's water polo team. The Lions (12-13, 4-2 GCC) travel to UC Irvine on Friday and host Concordia on Saturday to close out the Golden Coast Conference season.

Full Roster Win in GCC Finale
LMU women’s water polo used their entire roster in a 12-6 win over Concordia in the final Golden Coast Conference match-up of the regular season for both team in Irvine, Calif., on Thursday afternoon.

Winners of 10 straight, UC Irvine comes in at No. 6 in this week's Collegiate Water Polo Association Top 25 Poll. The Anteaters (19-6, 4-0 Big West) host LMU for an evening contest on Friday with the schedule start being at 7 p.m. The nonconference match will be the second time the two programs have met this season.

The Lions close out the regular season on Saturday with a noon start against Concordia (7-17, 0-5 GCC). The final match of the season will serve as LMU's senior day and the last time that Caitlin Schafer and Kiana Etrata compete at Burns Aquatics Center. The two are among the conference leaders in multiple categories with Schafer ranking second in goals per game (2.28) and Etrata second in assists per game (1.40).
