More Records as Lions Finish Season Seventh
Women's water polo adds to already lengthy record book with another championship season.

LOS ANGELES - The LMU women's water polo team wrapped up its 2012 campaign with its ninth Western Water Polo Association championship, its ninth trip to the NCAA Women's Water Polo Championships and its 12th straight 20-win season at 22-10 overall.
Add all that together, and it led to more records falling and the Lions finishing the season ranked seventh in the final national poll.
The Lions finished the season going 2-1 at the NCAA championships, earning fifth place with junior Erin Manke claiming second-team NCAA All-Tournament Team honors. Manke finished with seven goals, four assists and three steals for the Lions.
Manke finished the season with 39 goals, 43 assists and 41 steals, moving her career totals further up the LMU record, one of many Lions to do so in 2012.
Manke's 43 assists on the season ranked third all-time, sitting behind the 56 she had in 2011. Sitting atop that list is senior Casey Flacks, who set the record this season with 60. Flacks also moved to the top of the career list with 155 totals assists. Sitting in second with 136 is Manke, who will look to add to that total as a senior in 2013.
Sophomore Alexandra Honny had one of the best scoring season in LMU history in 2012, scoring 88 goals to rank third in LMU history. Honny scored 11 goals in the NCAA tournament, including six against Pomona-Pitzer in a 12-2 win. Honny moved her career total to 136 in just two seasons, ranking eighth all-time.
Senior Kimberly Benedetti, who became just the third Lion to score seven goals in a game when she did it against Princeton in her final game, finished 2012 with 64 goals. She ends her four year career ranked fourth all-time with 223 goals. Manke is ninth all-time with 129 and Flacks is tied for 14th with 116.
Flacks, Manke and Honny also find themselves in the top-20 in career steals, with Flacks ranking fourth with 189. Manke is 12th with 116 and Honny is 15th with 103. Honny had 66 steals in 2012 to rank seventh for a single season.
