Women’s Water Polo Lands 16 on ACWPC All-Academic Awards List
LMU’s Team GPA Finishes Top-20 in the Nation
BRIDGEPORT, Penn. – The Lions were all over the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Women’s All-Academic Awards list released this weekend. Of the total 536 athletes are recognized (140 Outstanding, 210 Superior, 186 Excellent), Loyola Marymount women’s water polo had three Outstanding, six Superior, and seven Excellent honorees.
Andrea Montes de Oca, Marissa Bryant-Manago, and Serena Zafiris received Outstanding recognition. The Superior list included Hana Vilanova, Jacqueline Verdugo, Julie Zanobini, Katie Hungerford, Melyssa Moore, and Morgan Molloy. Arianna St. Oegger, Caitlin Schafer, Kiana Etrata, Kiana Harpstrite, Lauren Owens, Reagan Denny, and Sage Pfeiffer and were honored on the Excellent list.
The grade point average criteria for Outstanding is 4.0-3.71, for Superior is 3.70-3.41, and for Excellent is 3.40-3.20. Additionally, as a team, the Lions were one of 44 programs to finish with a team GPA at 3.0 or better and LMU’s 3.27 GPA tied for 18th in the nation.
