LOS ANGELES - Junior Alexandra Honny was named 2013 Honorable Mention All-American by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches on Monday, earning her second straight All-American honor.
Honny continues a theme for the Lions in recent history of multiple All-American honors for women's water polo. LMU has a multiple All-American winner every season since 2008 and Honny is the 13th Lion to earn at least two All-American honors in program history.
The Riverside native scored 71 goals in 2013 to lead the Lions for the second straight season. Her 88 in 2012 ranked third all-time for goals in a single season while her 71 this past season ranks fifth.
She now has 207 goals in her career, ranking her fifth all-time and making her just the six Lion to score at least 200 in a tenure with the Lions.
Honny is more than just offense, leading the Western Water Polo Association with 86 steals in 2013, which ranks third all-time at LMU. She now has 189 in her career, tying former teammate Casey Flacks for fourth all-time in LMU history.
