LOS ANGELES - The LMU women's water polo program continues to rank high in and out of the pool, earning high honors by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches, who announced the 2013 Women's All-Academic Awards this week.

As a program, the Lions ranked among the nation's top-25 in team GPA (ranked 22nd) with a 3.18 GPA, earning national honors for the eighth straight year. In addition, six individual Lions earned All-Academic honors from the ACWPC.

Earning outstanding (4.00-3.71 GPA) honors in 2013 were Kiara Cerda, Jessica Morelos, and Danielle Johnson. Superior (3.70-3.41) honors went to Megan Linder, while excellent (3.40-3.20) honors went to Laura Lopez and Morgan Bonk.

Morelos becomes just the third Lion to earn national All-Academic honors all four years, joining Casey Flacks and Stacia Peterson. Morelos earned first-team (outstanding) accolades the last two seasons.

Cerda and Lopez each make the award list for the second consecutive season, with Cerda earning her second straight first-team honor. Freshman Linder and Johnson earn the honor in their first season while the senior Bonk saved her best for last, earning the honor in her final season.
