Water Polo Adds 10 Academic Honors
Women's water polo earns highest number of WWPA Academic honors in program history to give Athletic Department 67 All-Academic selections for 2011-12.

LOS ANGELES - LMU student-athletes continue to excel both in and out of their respective athletic venues, as the women's water polo team took home 10 Western Water Polo Association All-Academic honors this week. It capped a big week of academic honors for the Lions, giving the department 67 conference academic honors in 2011-12.
Kimberly Benedetti, Morgan Bonk, Whitney Delgado, Casey Flacks, Aimee Goodwin, Alexandra Honny, Laura Lopez, Erin Manke, Jessica Morelos and Elise Ponce were named 2012 WWPA All-Academic for earning at least a 3.0 grade point average following the 2012 season. They helped lead the Lions to a program record ninth conference title and ninth trip to the NCAA Championships.
It is the highest number of All-Academic honors for a single season in women's water polo program history.
The All-WWPA honors continues the trend of high academic honors for the Lions throughout the year, including national recognition for team academic success for men's water polo, women's water polo, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's track.
Individually, 67 LMU student-athletes earned conference academic honors and 194 earned national scholar-athlete honors.
