LMU Athletic Training
LOS ANGELES - As the fall sports gets into full gear, LMU Athletic Training has added a fifth member to its staff providing support to LMU's more than 450 student-athletes. LMU alumnus Christina Mancuso has joined the Lions and will work with the men's and women's water polo, cross country and track.
Mancuso graduated from LMU in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and then earned her Masters in Athletic Training from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in May of 2010.
She joins the Lions after spending a year with Pacific THERx, Inc., as an exercise instructor for the physical therapy clinic. Following her graduating from Texas Tech, Mancuso worked for Kernan Sports Medicine in Baltimore, Mary., through 2011.
During her time with Texas Tech, she worked the Red Raiders women's basketball program while also working with Lubbock Sports Medicine, Coronado High School and Estacado High School. At LMU, she worked with the women's water polo team and women's volleyball team.
In between her time at the two institutions, she worked at Los Angeles Southwest College, assisting the football team during spring practices in 2008.
Mancuso, who is a certified ATC, joins a staff that has more than 50 years experience in the athletic training profession. Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine Keith Ellison has been with the program more than 25 years and leads the Lions athletic training staff.
