Game 11 Recap: No. 4 BYU-Hawaii 12, No. 9 Whittier 9 BYU-Hawaii advances to the fifth place game after downing Whittier 12-9 at the Western Water Polo Association Men's Water Polo Championships at Burns Aquatic Center on the campus of Loyola Marymount University. With the win, BYU-Hawaii improves to 14-9, while ninth-seed Whitter moves to 15-16. BYU-Hawaii will face the winner of UC Santa Cruz and Santa Clara in the battle for fifth place. BYU-Hawaii broke open a 3-3 game with a three-goal second period and never looked back, led by Vlada Stankovic, James Jacobson, and Erik Grosshans, who each had three goals. |
