Jim McIver joined the LMU Athletic Department in July of 2022 as the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Corporate Relations where he is tasked to lead an independent in-house team dedicated to representing Loyola Marymount University Athletics as the multimedia rights holder for LMU Athletics. In his role, McIver will extend the university's athletic brand affinities with businesses and corporations to achieve LMU Athletics objectives inalignment with the university's brand platform, strategic marketing and engagement plans, and a loyal collegiate sports fan base.
McIver came to the bluff after working for Downstream, where he led sports sales for the branding firm specializing in professional and college facility design. McIver, an industry veteran in the world of sports marketing and sponsorship sales, has worked for the Missouri Valley Conference and for the University of Miami’s Hurricane Sports Properties, a joint venture of Learfield Sports and IMG College.
Prior to Miami, McIver was with AEG in Los Angeles, where he was vice president, business development. His additional previous experience includes serving 15 years with IMG in Los Angeles, where he managed the office and worked in the same capacity. He is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University, where he was a letterman on the baseball team.
